Here's an article from the BBC about a call center in India, that was used during Hurricane Rita to take emergency calls routed from Texas and Lousiana. This really pisses me off given that last year a bunch of Congressmen tried to pull this CRAP !!

Tickets to the musical version of The Lords of the RIngs went on sale last month. Given that A.R. Rahman (reported to be "India's most popular composer" is writing the music (with a bunch of other folks, who we here at Team Brown don't care much about !!) , does that mean that the Hobbit's will be doing the Bhangra ? Sorry for the hiatus folks !! but things have been busy here !! In true TeamBrown style, Mrs. B & I are now the proud owners of a condo in Chi-town (could we be any more brown.. I guess we could... if we went ahead and bought a new 3 series or something)... anyways, it was frightening handing over a decent amount of money, in the hope that we will see some return on what people keep telling us is a "good investment". We certainly have our fingers crossed.

Coming back to brownness (I just made that word up), whats the deal with ESPN going crazy with their coverage of the spelling bee. Is this now a competetitive sport ? Beats me.

But as has been happening in the last few years, a little brown overacheiver has pulled off the win again !! There is an interesting perspective on this on ESPN's site. Check it out here. Its written by some brown dude who claims that the spelling bee is "our domain of excellence". Enough said !!!

Keep the blood line pure .. or not !!

Since I'm a science nerd and all that.. I thought I would post something to that effect !! This site here had an interesting method of figuring out what the desi (for those of you who don't know what that is.. leave NOW!!!) intermarriage rate is. They use the Macy's wedding registry, and plug in a bunch of brown last names (all religious and ethnic groups),.. and come up with some interesting results. Although, at first I thought that this would grossly underestimate the real numbers, but it seems al though their assumptions seem OK !! Check it out here.
